Niger’s President Mohamed Bazoum has been deposed, according to a report by a group of military on a national television.
It was after many hours the head of state was locked in his palace by the soldiers responsible for safe guarding him.
Colonel Amadou Abdramane was accompanied by his nine colleagues on the national television said the the military and security agencies have decided to put an end to this regime full insecurity and poor governance.
Colonel Abdramane ordered all Niger borders to be closed, and also to impose curfew throughout the country.
The soldiers who have overthrown the regime have completely warned the international community to refrain from their country’s internal affairs.
The United States of America, through its secretary Anthony Blinken, condemned Bazoum’s execution, calling for his immediate release.
The coup d’etat in Niger counts the fourteenth in Africa since 2010.
Niger, in particular, is one of the countries in the Sahel region that has been threatened by the attacks of the Islamic state group.
The West African Political analysts agree that the coup d’etat in Africa could disrupt the countries’ plan to restore peace and stability in the region.
