A famous BelgianTelevision presenter and movie actor, Tom Yvo Adrien Waes, is super excited after visiting Ibere Rya Bigogwe tourism site in north-western region of Rwanda.
Tom is generally known for his role as the brother of Bart De Pauw in ‘He Geslacht De Pauw’ comedy, released in 2005, ‘SM-rechter’ movie released in 2009 and Undercover series of 2019.
In 2015, Tom won three prizes in World Media Festival for his Reizen Waes travel documentary, Wauters vs Waes show and The Blacklist; a TV series program dedicated to the children.
Like many other celebrities from different corners of the globe, Tom had the opportunity to visit Rwanda, a quickly developing country which is among the best tourism destinations.
Among the remarkable places in Rwanda, there are national parks like Akagera, Volcanoes National Park and Nyungwe, but Ibere rya Bigogwe is a tourism site to keep in mind and visit before leaving this country for home.
Tom with his team left Kigali for Bigogwe on January 13, 2024 to experience more wonders found in this site, and he had the best moments with the green hills, the cows and community around there.
Super excited Tom invited his colleagues who took part in his Undercover movie to visit this place.
“I feel amazing and I think everybody we see in this movie; they have to come. And I will not say anything, it’s a surprise" said Tom adding "you are above my expectations. The way you talk, the way you sing with your friends, the milking with the cows. It was all amazing.”
Chief Executive Officer of Ibere Rya Bigogwe tourism company that manages the site, Ngabo Karegeya, feels blessed for welcoming Tom and his team of tourism documentarists.
“Welcoming Tom is the best and important thing. An exciting fact is that he was saying he found me on social media, Instagram and got motivated to visit this place. As you listened, he said all he has seen were beyond his expectations.”
“For Bigogwe, it’s important achievement. We expect more, we expect it on big platforms in the world, like Belgium TV he [Tom] works for. We expect more visitors, Bigogwe will be more famous for sure" said Karegeya.
Ngabo is very grateful for President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame, for giving the platforms to the young people and wishes Rwanda’s leader to live longer.
