Narcisse Nteziryayo AHF-Rwanda Prevention Programs Manager
AHF-Rwanda has been supporting Rwanda health programs in preventing from acquiring the Coronavirus from the day government announced the more than a month’s lockdown that started in on March 23 2020.
Midwives have been the center stage for the AHF-Rwanda support as regards helping them travel to and from work which was otherwise a risky endeavor.
The NGO has been complementing government in transporting midwives in additional buses to their respective health centers and voluntarily testing them of the COVID-19 in their homes every day.
The buses have been working effectively until the Ministerial meeting accepted that commuter buses resume their daily work.
“These days we are fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. It was difficult to transport midwives and doctors to hospitals and back to their homes which is why AHF-Rwanda decided to complement the Ministry of Health in hiring more buses in Kigali city to do that work,” said Narcisse Nteziryayo, AHF-Rwanda Prevention Programs Manager.
